A Message from Mrs. D. Fraser
A warm hello to all of the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Elementary School community. Each new school year brings much excitement and promise for the adventure which lies ahead for students, teachers and parents. The students of Holy Name of Mary School are blessed to be part of a school community which offers a wealth of opportunities with specific goals to foster academic, social, emotional and physical growth.
As Catholics we believe each child is created in the image and likeness of the Creator. Each child is unique and precious and therefore must be nurtured to their maximum potential. In fact, in their Pastoral Letter for Catholic Education, Renewing the Promise, the Catholic Bishops of Ontario describe the Catholic school as “a community that encourages engagement and instils hope.” “We look to the future of Catholic education with great hope,” they wrote, “because we are blessed to have so many committed and faith-filled educators and leaders whose witness to faith provides a compelling example to our young people.”
Obviously, the role of parents in supporting the school is most important. Our motto is: Together we celebrate faith, family and learning to which we (the staff) aspire. We believe in a close relationship between home, school and parish is vital in promoting the best interests of the child. Thus, a huge thanks is extended to all parents of our school, and especially the Holy Name of Mary Catholic School Council for their continued advocacy of our school, staff and students. It truly takes a village to have a school that is spirited and full of life, and we certainly welcome your input.
May God continue to bless you and your family as we journey through this school year.
